About the Instructor

Leslie Acosta began her professional journey as a social worker – providing services to underserved families.  After a twelve-year career in social work, she decided to go back to school – completing a master’s degree in Business Administration.

For the past fifteen years, Leslie has been teaching business courses in leadership management, financial management, economics, essentials of entrepreneurship, and marketing.  In addition to teaching courses in business; she has been instrumental in advocating and crafting policy initiatives regarding criminal justice and educational reform.

Leslie’s passion for public service inculcated a desire to create a culturally inclusive multimedia center. Which led to the creation of USALA Media, a digital media platform focused on addressing social justice issues and policy reforms at the city, state and federal level.
